ok – have you been following the story of the Killer Whales who are attacking ships in the Strait of Gibraltar?
Ride with me on this one…
So over the weekend I saw an Instagram post talking about “White Gladis”, a Killer Whale that has been spotted attacking ships in the area, presumably because of either being hunted or being caught in a ship’s fishing nets. NOT ONLY is she going on attack (see #MobyDick), but ya girl is teaching younger Orcas to follow her destructive path of vengeance and attack ships as well.
Terrifying? Sure. Fanciful? Absolutely. Would I BLAME her? Not one bit.
But I brushed it off as an exaggeration of a few incidents. You know how the internet can be.
BUT THIS MORNING the Associated Press has this story:
Now, THEY do not name the villain/heroine White Gladis, but the story tracks.
Since I couldn’t find the original instagram post I couldn’t remember her name, so when googling for it I also found this story with more details:

Do I want people to get hurt? Absolutely not. But in the immortal words of Dr. Ian Malcolm: “Life….finds a way.”
