The Toronto Blue Jays kept their postseason hopes alive by defeating the Seattle Mariners 6–2 in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series at Rogers Centre, setting up a decisive Game 7.

Toronto took control early in Game 6, with Daulton Varsho’s leadoff double in the second inning and an error by Eugenio Suárez helping the Jays to score twice. A double play from Cal Raleigh ended a threat from the Mariners in the third inning, and in the bottom half, Addison Barger doubled the lead with one swing. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added a solo homer in the fifth to make it 5–0; and despite an attempt from Seattle to narrow the gap a bit in the sixth (with a solo shot from Josh Naylor, and an RBI double from Suárez), it wasn’t enough to get back into the game. Toronto added one more run in the seventh on a wild pitch from Matt Brash to seal the victory.

Blue Jays’ starting pitcher Trey Yesavage allowed just two runs with seven strikeouts over 5⅔ innings, with relievers Louis Varland and Jeff Hoffman finishing the job.

The final matchup of the series is scheduled for Monday at 8:08 p.m. ET in Toronto, where the winner will move on to face the defending World Series champions Los Angeles Dodgers.
