More tales of heroism during tragedy from (for many) an unexpected source.
After the shooting of a faculty member by a student, parents tweeted (posted? X is weird) stories of how the Custodial staff at UNC possibly saved their children’s lives by acting quickly to lock classrooms and buildings to keep the intruder out.

I highly recommend going through the original tweet thread as well as Mofessor’s current page and reading the many parent/professor responses. Sadly, this is now such an common occurrence that there are many words of experience/advice for parents AND workers in dealing with the many emotions after such a heinous act. This one in particular stood out to me:
