Yellowstone‘s creator, executive producer, and sometime star Tyler Sheridan is at it again –
He’s executive producing a new series based on the true story of Bass Reeves,

an enslaved man who became a legendary US Marshal. The series, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, premieres on Paramount+ later this year. How incredible is Reeves’ history? Well, it’s so incredible that many believe that he was at least partially the inspiration behind The Lone Ranger.
David Oyelowo,

who portrayed Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma plays Reeves.
Dennis Quaid

costars as Sherrill Lynn, a US Deputy Marshal who urges Reeves to join his posse,
and Donald Sutherland

plays Judge Isaac Parker a true-life figure appointed to bring order to the Western territory at Fort Smith.
And the always great (and under-appreciated, I think) Barry Pepper

as Reeves’s “nemesis” and former Confederate soldier, Esau Pierce.
DAMMIT Paramount+, you’re bound & determined to take my money!
