Spring Cocktail Recipes from Hy-Vee

Spring is finally here and it is a great time to make some fresh fruity cocktails to greet the season! As I was looking through Hy-Vee Seasons magazine this month I found a couple of great drink ideas that put a new twist on some old classics. The Ginger Grapefruit Paloma is simple and so tasty. Here’s what you need to make it:  

  • Kosher salt
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 4 ounces of Hy-Vee 100% grapefruit juice
  • 4 ounces silver tequila
  • An ounce and a half lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons agave nectar
  • 2 ounces of ginger beer

Place kosher salt on a small plate. Rub the rims of two cocktail glasses with a lime wedge and dip in salt to coat. Fill glasses with ice and set them aside. Combine juices, tequila and agave nectar in a two-cup glass measure. Divide the mixture between the two glasses and top each with two ounces of ginger beer. If you want to make them look fancy you can garnish the glasses with a grapefruit wedge and a sprig of thyme.
