Five Refreshing Beer Floats

Five Refreshing Beer Floats

Summer isn’t over yet, but I feel like I need to try something different to get out of my summer beer rut. I found some great beer float recipes on Hy-Vee.com and decided that was about as far out of a beer rut as I could imagine. If you’re in search of summer in a glass, try the Shandy Sherbet Float. The lemon of summer shandy and orange in the sherbet combine for a light-bodied drink with citrus-forward taste. If you’re searching for something subtle, the Pilsner Float is perfect for you. The mild flavor and light body of the pilsner offer up an adult dessert without overpowering the sherbet flavor. If you have a sweet tooth, the Malted Caramel float is the drink for you. The sweetness of caramel marries with the maltiness of an amber lager for one delicious dessert! One important tip: pour the beer into the glass and then add the ice cream so that it doesn’t foam up. I learned the hard way!
