The first Thursday in August is National IPA Day. Raise a glass and join beer enthusiasts, breweries and bars across the country to toast one of beer’s most iconic styles. The beauty of National IPA Day is the support you can give your local craft brewers. We have plenty of local breweries you can visit. Here’s a list of some local brewers you might want to check out (my apologies to anyone I might have missed):

Thunderhead Brewing
Kros Strain Brewing

IPAs date back to the late 18th century, when these ales were brewed for British sailors making long sea voyages to India. Most beers didn’t keep well on board ship, but London brewer George Hodgson was one of the first to develop a pale ale with a high hop content, which kept its taste better.
